In March Marie Fjeldsted released her first single ‘Bad As You’ under her own name thus dropping the alias Penny Police. Now she is ready with her new single ‘Occasionally’, with her silky soft vocals and lyrics centered around the feeling of constantly changing.

Occasionally is set for at June 10 release on Celebration Records

It is a stylish and present pop song that oozes atmosphere and which follows up nicely on the album ‘Be Lucky’ which was releasen in 2019. ‘Bad As You’ cultivates a simpler expression, where it feels as if we are getting deeper under the skin of the artist. (HQ)

With the transformation from Penny Police to Marie Fjeldsted it is exactly what she has started; a movement towards a more honest and immediate expression. The new single is a close depiction of the attempt to dare to let go and enjoy change as it happens instead of constantly resisting.

”The song is about the pendulum of emotions it has been for me to become a mother. Accepting that things change, your body, your place in life, your ability to have control over things, everything changes, but in return you can lie with your child and feel whole right there”, says Marie 


Occasionally is the first song Marie Fjeldsted and her boyfriend Linus Klestrup Larsen worked on together in his new studio before the pandemic set in.

”Everything was new to us. We did not know where to begin, so it kinda became a dogma to us to just get started without having either a sketch or an idea. I have never worked like this before, on the contrary, I have messed around a lot with all stages in the creative process, so this was a nice and easy approach. Occasionally is special and very dear to me because it almost wrote itself in an instant and it became the start of what felt like a new era to me.”

When covid-19 shut everything down, Marie and Linus set up a home studio in their bedroom. It became a natural safe space which has provided a new way of working and a whole new set of songs. 



”I have never felt like a persona which is why it feels right to drop the Penny Polias moniker. I have taken home the music - both literally home in my bedroom, but also in the sense of the musical expression because I have made it completely outside of other people’s expectations, opinions and involvement”, says Marie.

Occasionally will be released June 10 on all streaming services via Celebration Records.

Marie will perform her new songs for the first time at Folkely Festival in Hundested August 26.
