Marie Fjeldsted sings a duet with Christian Hjelm on new single
Marie Fjeldsted releases the last single before her upcoming album on March 17. In a duet with Christian Hjelm (Figurines), Marie calls upon her faith believing everything is going to be okay in the end.
Marie Fjeldsted’s latest single ‘Never Lost, Never Won’ was released to critical acclaim both at home and abroad. The song has been played on radiostations all over the world and was hit of the week on the biggest station (P4) in Denmark and has since the release been on heavy rotation on P6 Beat. So her new music under her own has already been making waves in the industry as Marie is getting ready to release her new album - the first without her alias Penny Police. The new album ‘Keep It Alive’ will be release May 26th.
“Never Lost, Never Won” is quite special and serves to get you hooked by the music that resides within the soul of this amazing artist.”

On the fifth and final single taken from the album she has teamed up with Christian Hjelm in a duet, where Christian sings in English again for the first time since The Figurines. Together they sing us into the spring with the uplifting promise that ”everything’s gonna be alright”.
Maries inspiration for the song came during lockdown where she and her family for long periods of time escaped out of town to her parents-in-law’s summer residence in Lynæs. Here they discovered small rocks scattered all over town with hand painted messages like ‘everything’s gonna be alright’. A very creative and encouraging message of hope and love which has found its way into Marie’s new song.
Marie Fjeldsted has ever since she entered the Danish music scene stood as a distinct voice with her warm, unique voice insisting on conveying vulnerability with gentleness which has resonated well with critics all over the world.
2022 became a year of transformation for Marie who dropped her alias Penny Police for her own name stepping out of the shadow of the pandemic with enough songs for a new album and a new direction.
“While Penny Police music was always pure and intimate, Marie Fjeldsted compositions touch the heart and soul even more.”

lyrics
Underneath a heavy,
a heavy chest a heart is
Pumping blood, easily, keeping
Keeping us alive, I’m sure
Everything’s gonna be alright
Got to feel
Gotta feel something
Got to love
Gotta love someone
Could it be that somewhere,
somewhere in-between
a broken wing, a broken dream, there’s light
Keeping us alive, I’m sure
Everything’s gonna be alright
